New McAuliffe ad links Cuccinelli, Ted Cruz

Chris Graham

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe’s campaign released a new radio ad on Friday focused on how Ken Cuccinelli is campaigning with the architect of the government shutdown, Ted Cruz, rather than condemning Cruz and his Tea Party allies for putting Virginia’s economy in danger.

“It’s no wonder Ken Cuccinelli is more focused on having Ted Cruz campaign with him this weekend than condemning Cruz and his Tea Party allies for putting Virginia and the nation’s economy at risk by forcing a government shutdown,” said McAuliffe spokesperson Josh Schwerin. “Ken Cuccinelli said himself in 2006 that he would have let Virginia go “right over the brink” to stop then-governor Mark Warner’s bipartisan budget bill from passing two years earlier. Virginians need leaders who will deliver smart fiscal management and sound leadership, not Ken Cuccinelli who has time and again put his ideological agenda ahead of what’s best for Virginia’s economy.”
