Tanner Roark struck out 15 in seven scoreless innings, and Washington defeated Minnesota, 2-0, on Saturday.
Roark (2-2, 2.63 ERA) allowed two hits and walked three, throwing 121 pitches, 78 for strikes.
The Nats (13-4) got all their offense in the first on a two-run single by UVA alum Ryan Zimmerman.
Bryce Harper was 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles. Zimmerman was 2-for-3 on the day.
Phil Hughes (1-3, 3.91 ERA) took the loss for the Twins, giving up two runs on six hits in seven innings.
