Motorcyclist arrested after chase in Augusta County: Speeds over 150 mph

backA Churchville man faces felony charges after trying to elude law enforcement on a motorcycle at speeds in excess of 150 mph.

Bruce Back, 31, faces felony charges related to the May 29 incident that began with complaints being called into 911 about a white sport bike being operated recklessly in the Churchville area.

Back passed a deputy responding to the calls on Buffalo Gap Highway, and kept going after the deputy made an effort to stop him, continuing on to Parkersburg Turnpike.

The deputy pursued the motorcycle towards Staunton and eventually lost sight of it. As the deputy approached the intersection of Trinity Point Road, he found the operator on the side of the road and subsequently took him into custody.
