Nats complete rare sweep in St. Louis
Max Scherzer threw seven shutout innings to push the Washington Nationals to a 6-1 win at St. Louis on Sunday.
Scherzer (3-1, 3.55 ERA) struck out nine, didn’t walk a batter and allowed four hits.
Scherzer was also 2-for-2 at the plate.
Clint Robinson and Danny Espinosa homered in a three-run seventh for the Nats (17-7).
Bryce Harper was 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.
White Sox blitz O’s to salvage series split
Chris Sale continued his hot start to the 2016 season in a 7-1 in at Baltimore on Sunday.
Sale (6-0, 1.66 ERA) struck out six, walked four and allowed five hits and a run in five and a third innings for the White Sox (18-8).
Ubaldo Jimenez (1-3, 5.20 ERA) took the loss for the O’s (14-10), giving up six runs on seven hits in four and two-thirds innings.
