There’s some disagreement – serious disagreement – on the status of two missing teens from Appomattox County.

Zoey Robertson and Anthony Wirth, both 17, are considered runaways, and the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office believes they are likely not in danger.

But Kenny Jarels, the president of the Roanoke-based AWARE Foundation, is raising alarm.

“I respectfully disagree due to their lack of access to financial resources,” said Jarels, who is concerned with “how they are sustaining themselves, and who may be assisting them, which raises concerns about potential trafficking.”

It is believed that Robertson and Wirth, who were last seen in Appomattox County on Aug. 29, are in the Philadelphia area.

The teens were involved in a high-speed chase in Pennsylvania with speeds over 100 mph on Aug. 30.

The vehicle is a gold 2007 Volvo S80 with a VA license plate.

If you have information on the whereabouts of the two missing teens, contact the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office at 434-352-8241.
