marsh-howard-fishburneFishburne Military School announced that Cadet Howard Marsh, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Marsh of Middlebrook, VA, will be inducted into the M. Frank Wooten chapter of the National Honor Society. Marsh is a Senior and is in his third year at Fishburne.

The M. Frank Wooten chapter of the National Honor Society at FMS was established in 1976 to honor academic excellence within the Corps of Cadets.

The initial requirement for membership in NHS is a 3.5 weighted Grade Point Average (GPA). A candidate must also have been at FMS for one full school year. When these requirements have been met, the selection committee, composed of Department Heads and instructors, reviews each candidate’s qualifications under the remaining standards of service, character and leadership.

Fishburne Military School’s Superintendent, retired Navy Captain Mark E. Black, noted that “Induction into the National Honor Society represents one of the highest academic honors a student can achieve at Fishburne. These young men have demonstrated not only high academic achievement, but also leadership, service and character in and out of the classroom. Congratulations to this year’s inductees and to their families on this achievement.”

Fishburne’s academic program, coupled with its extracurricular opportunities and JROTC-structured program, is strengthened by the individualized attention afforded cadets in a challenging, family-oriented environment.

Fishburne offers rolling admission for grades 7-12 while space remains available. For more information on Fishburne or rolling admission, contact Mr. Cedrick Broadhurst, Director of Admissions, at (800) 946-7773 or [email protected].
