The Staunton Augusta Art Center will host an opening reception on Friday, May 6, from 6-8 p.m. for their “Recovery Through the Seasons” Art Show. The art show is presented as part of Mental Health Awareness Month – and features works by artists who face some form of mental illness.
The art show is held in collaboration with the Western State Hospital art program, NAMI, Shenandoah Art Therapy, the Commonwealth Center for Children & Adolescents, and Valley Community Services Board.
It is also part of the joint effort to raise awareness for #MentalHealthintheValley.
The art show will run through May 31 at the R.R. Smith Building on New Street in downtown Staunton.
