UVA men's lacrosseA 6-1 second-quarter run put Princeton in control, and the Tigers pulled the upset of defending national champion Virginia, 16-12, on Saturday afternoon at Klöckner Stadium.

The loss snapped UVA’s 10-game winning streak that dated back to an April 13, 2019 loss at Duke.

The second-ranked Cavaliers (2-1) rallied from a 12-8 second-half deficit with a Ian Laviano goal that cut the margin to 13-12 with 8:54 left.

UVA had a chance to tie, but Laviano’s shot was saved and the Tigers ran the transition, resulting in a Princeton goal by Phillip Robertson at 5:11 to start a final 3-0 run that capped the win.
