Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) announced a grant award of $70,000 to the Crater Planning District Commission which covers the localities of Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Hopewell, Emporia, Colonial Heights, Greensville, Surry and Sussex for the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
“This is an important step forward to have funding come to the Crater Planning District Commission to help these localities encourage private investment, create jobs and plan for the future,” said Congressman Donald McEachin. “Investing in our communities to make them stronger and better is a help for those residents and for strengthening the entire region.”
The CEDS will establish a framework for planning and process to support the investment of private funds and the creation of jobs within the planning district.
