mark-warnerSen. Mark Warner’s re-election campaign announced its first quarter fundraising numbers today. During this election cycle, Friends of Mark Warner has raised more than $11.2 million and has over $8.8 million cash on hand. This quarter the campaign received contributions totaling nearly $2.7 million from more than 11,000 donors. Almost two-thirds of all contributors this cycle are from Virginia.

“This quarter’s report shows that Virginians want a Senator who will work across the aisle to find commonsense solutions,” said Campaign Manager Trey Nix. “We are building a robust campaign operation to communicate Senator Warner’s long record of creating jobs, building a fairer economy and working to keep college affordable.”

Sen. Warner, a successful Virginia business leader and entrepreneur, served as Governor of Virginia between 2002-06. During his four-year term as Governor, the Warner Administration attracted 130,000 new jobs to the Commonwealth, and Virginia was honored as the country’s Best Managed State, the Best State for Business, and the Best State for Educational Opportunities.

Elected to the U.S. Senate during the 2008 recession, Sen. Warner had a key role in successfully enacting bipartisan wall street reforms. Widely viewed as a consensus-builder in Congress, Sen. Warner has worked for greater fiscal accountability, and he is a bipartisan leader in promoting innovation and greater economic opportunity. Sen. Warner is a champion for Virginia’s small businesses, and a strong advocate for Virginia’s military men and women, our veterans and their families.
