Mark Trumbo led off the 12th with a solo homer to push Baltimore to a dramatic 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday night.
Trumbo’s homer, his 44th of the season, broke a four-game Orioles losing streak.
The O’s (83-71) are a half-game back of the Detroit Tigers for the second AL wild-card spot.
The Baltimore bullpen came up huge in this one, throwing six shutout innings, allowing just three baserunners, all on base hits.
Starter Yovani Gallardo (5-8, 5.63 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) had a solid outing, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings of work, striking out five and walking two.
