L_111615-clahs-marchingvirginiansThe Marching Virginians and New Life Christian Fellowship will join forces again this year to sponsor a massive canned food drive in conjunction with the Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina football game Nov. 21.

The goal of the 19th annual Hokies for the Hungry drive is to collect 66,233 cans of food, or one can from every fan.

Senior running back J.C. Coleman is the honorary chairman for Hokies for the Hungry.

“As the 2015 holiday season approaches, I encourage everyone to share in the spirit of Thanksgiving by supporting this tremendous food drive,” Coleman said. “This time of the year provides a wonderful opportunity to share and help provide for the less fortunate families and individuals throughout the region. It is my hope that Virginia Tech and UNC fans will find it in their hearts to share and donate towards an exceptional cause during this special time of year.”

Drop-off points for donated food will be set up at all entrances to Lane Stadium and various locations near the stadium where tailgate pep Bands will be performing before kick-off.

All contributions will be distributed through the Montgomery County Christmas Store.
