Lynchburg | E.C. Glass student in custody after posting gun selfie from school bathroom

A juvenile is in custody after snapping and sharing a photo with a gun inside a bathroom at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg.

The 16-year-old male student has been charged with possession of a firearm on school property, according to the Lynchburg Police Department. The juvenile is being held at Lynchburg’s juvenile detention facility.

According to police, a social media post was made yesterday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m. with the photo. Officers worked with staff from Lynchburg City Schools to identify and locate the juvenile at his residence.

With the cooperation of the family, officers conducted a search of the home and recovered the firearm in the photo.

There is no ongoing threat to E.C. Glass High School, according to the LPD.
