Lynchburg District Traffic Alert: Dec. 6-12

road-work-headerHighway work in the Lynchburg District requiring road/lane/structure closures is scheduled, weather permitting.  Traffic may be restricted.  Items in italics contain new/updated information.  For up-to-date information, call 511 or visit www.511Virginia.org.  

Amherst County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 501/130 (Snowden) – Traffic control/flaggers in use. Expect delays. End: 4/21/17.   

Appomattox County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

None

 

Buckingham County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator 

Route 60 (Andersonville AHQ) – Crews will repair shoulders.

Andersonville AHQ– Crews will boom axe.

Various locations –Crews will make surface repairs and respond to customer requests.

 

Campbell County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 643 over Falling River –Road closed, detour in place through 7/22/16 for bridge replacement and approach work. Traffic control devices/flaggers in use. Expect delays.

Route 698 over Big Seneca Creek–  Road closed from Dec. 7-18 for superstructure replacement. Detour in place using Route 701, 697, 699 and 761.

 

Charlotte County:  Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Craftons Gate AHQ -Crews will mow at various locations.

Various –Crews will make surface repairs, work shoulders, cut brush and respond to customers.

 

Cumberland County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various locations –Crews will work surfaces, mow and respond to customers.

 

Halifax County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 730 (Cluster Springs AHQ) – Crews will replace pipe. Delays possible. 

Route 691 over Tobey Creek(Rt 659/658 intersection) – Road closed Dec. 7-March 4 for structure replacement. Detour in place via Routes 659, 662 and 659.

Bethel AHQ – Crews will apply stone, mow and repair potholes.

Cluster Springs AHQ – Crews will boom axe behind guardrail..

Volens AHQ – Crews will apply stone to shoulders.

Various –Crews will respond to customer requests.

 

Nelson County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

None

 

Pittsylvania County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 726 – Construction underway. Signs/traffic control devices in place. Est.comp-4/29/16. 

Brosville and Kentuck AHQ – Crews will perform ditching operations. 

Brosville, Kentuck and Mt. Airy AHQ – Crews will make shoulder repairs at various locations.

Gretna AHQ – Crews will clean mainline pipe.

Mt. Airy AHQ – Crews will place stone at mailboxes.

Various –Crews will work surfaces, boom axe, mow and respond to customers.

 

Prince Edward County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various routes –.  Crews will work surfaces, mow, cut brush, and respond to customers.

 

District-wide activities: 

Bridge and guardrail maintenance – Crews will perform bridge/guardrail maintenance. 

Bridge-mounted signs – Foundation work underway. Traffic control devices will assist motorists.

Pavement markings – Contractors are applying permanent pavement markings districtwide.
