David Lough hit a three-run homer in the second, Ubaldo Jimenez gave Baltimore five solid innings, and the O’s held on for a 6-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.
Jimenez (6-3) gave up three runs on six hits in five innings of work, striking out eight and walking three. Zach Britton notched his 20th save despite giving up a Dustin Pedroia two-out RBI double in the ninth, getting David Ortiz to line out to third for the final out of the game.
Joe Kelly (2-5) was roughed up in a losing effort for the Sox, giving up five runs on eight hits in three and two-thirds innings.
The win keeps the Orioles (37-33) two and a half games back of Tampa Bay in the American League East.
