Lordy, there are tapes | Border czar Tom Homan caught taking $50K bribe?

Tom Homan, the face of ICE, and the Trump administration’s war on brown people, was caught on undercover video accepting $50,000 in cash to help steer government contracts to business contacts – and the Trump administration shut down an FBI investigation into what almost certainly was a blatant federal crime.

“This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing. The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed,” FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a joint statement.

“No credible evidence.” Of course.

A video is not “credible evidence” when it’s a Trumper taking grift, apparently.

So much for the MAGA whining about the Biden administration weaponizing the DOJ: the DOJ got Homan on video taking the cash in September, and you’re just hearing about it now.

Donald Trump was literally posting online last night to tell his Attorney General, Pam Bondi, that she needs to find crimes to prosecute a list of prominent Democrats over, strongly suggesting that he could find someone to replace her who would do the job, if she won’t.

In the case involving Homan, lordy, there are tapes – but the investigation was shut down.

According to published reports, the FBI investigation was launched last summer after it became known that Homan was soliciting money to steer contracts in the event that Trump would win the 2024 election.

The FBI set up a sting involving undercover agents –  Homan, greedy lump of nothingburger that he is, didn’t vet the contacts, and on Sept. 20, with hidden cameras recording the scene at a meeting spot in Texas, he accepted $50,000 in cold, hard cash, according to an internal summary of the case.

The defense from the White House is that Homan “has not been involved with any contract award decisions” – this is the statement from White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson, who called the FBI probe a “blatantly political investigation, which found no evidence of illegal activity, (and) is yet another example of how the Biden Department of Justice was using its resources to target President Trump’s allies rather than investigate real criminals and the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country.”

A former and soon-to-be again public official taking bribes would seem to be investigating “real criminals,” but then, the entire Trump administration comes across as a criminal enterprise.

Idea for what to do with Homan in the here and now: deport him to a gulag in El Salvador until this can be sorted out.

No, wait, Uganda – yeah, Uganda.
