lime kiln theaterLime Kiln Theater has received a $7,000 grant through the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Musical Festival Sponsorship Program for its 2018 Summer Concert Series.

The VTC program is a funding source to help grow music festivals in Virginia, increase visitation to Virginia communities, and extend the Virginia Is for Music Lovers brand. Applications are open to established, multi-day or seasonal series music festivals located in Virginia.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the VTC, and hope this is the start of a long relationship,” Lime Kiln executive director Spencer McElroy said. “The funds from this sponsorship will be put towards significant site improvements that will allow us to hold all events on site rain or shine, and for important upgrades to our sound and lighting equipment.”

Lime Kiln Arts, Inc. is a non-profit (501c3), operating at Lime Kiln Theater in Lexington. It opened in 1984 and is rooted in and inspired by the magic of a natural, outdoor theater. After a brief hiatus that started in 2012, Lime Kiln Theater recently announced its fifth straight summer season of live music and theater featuring local, regional and national acts.
