Both teams were on the attack offensively in the first half combing for four goals off 14 shots with eight on target. After Liberty scored its fourth goal in the 65th minute to take a 4-2 lead, Elon was able to respond with three goals in the last 32 minutes of the game attempting 10 shots during that span.
