Liberty Football: Hugh Freeze announces first signing class

Liberty FootballHugh Freeze announced his first-ever signing class at Liberty on Wednesday with 13 players signing national letters of intent during the NCAA’s early signing period.

The first half of Liberty’s 2019 signing class included four defensive linemen, three wide receivers, two safeties, two defensive backs, kicker/punter and a quarterback.

Freeze, who was hired as Liberty’s eighth head football coach on Dec. 7, 2018, will announce the remainder of his signing class on Feb. 6, 2019.

Liberty’s second signing class at the FBS level included four three-star recruits and two two-star recruits as ranked by 247Sports.com.

Liberty’s football staff continues to bring in the best high school talent from all around the country, signing players from nine different states: Virginia (3), North Carolina (2), South Carolina (2), Alabama (1), California (1), Florida (1), Georgia (1), Mississippi (1) and Ohio (1).
