Justin Anderson gets big minutes, struggles as Mavs rest starters

justin andersonVirginia basketball alum Justin Anderson logged 27 minutes for the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night as Mavs coach Rick Carlisle gave his starters a night off.

The rookie struggled with his shooting against Oklahoma City, going 2-for-9 from the field and 1-for-7 from three-point range, finishing with five points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Carlisle, also a UVA alum, was giving his starters the night off because Dallas was on the second night of a back-to-back.

The first game of the back-to-back was an overtime loss to Cleveland on Tuesday.

OKC defeated the Mavericks, 108-89.

Next up for Dallas is a road contest at Chicago Friday night.
