Johnathan Mills: Teaching and learning

Johnathan Mills can relate to the players under his wing at Fishburne Military School.

“Just the process of what it takes day in and day out to be successful at the next level, I’ve been a part of it. I’ve been at the Division I and Division II levels, so I know a little bit about what it’s going to take academically, on the basketball floor, in the community, to be a success,” said Mills, who comes to the FMS postgrad program after spending the last four years coaching high-school ball in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) and college ball at Montevallo.

Mills was attracted to the job for the opportunity to work with coach Ed Huckaby.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to work for a coach who’s not only regionally respected, but also nationally respected,” Mills said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for myself as well as the other coaches on the staff to to really focus on the process of getting better every day as a coach and as an individual. It’s a wonderful guy to mentor under. I look forward to the season.”
