Junior guard/forward Hollie Mershon (Malvern, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored a career-high 27 points to pace Drexel to a 60-43 win over James Madison in Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball Thursday night at the JMU Convocation Center.

The Dragons trailed 25-17 at halftime and outscored JMU 43-18 in the second half.

The loss ended a JMU’s home winning streak at 17 games.  The Dukes, who had won their last four games, dropped to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Drexel evened its overall record at 7-7 and improved to 3-1 in CAA play.

“It was a combination of Drexel playing phenomenal, and we played bad,” said JMU Head Coach Kenny Brooks.  “They played better.  Even when game was out of reach they were still scrapping and clawing.  They deserved to win.”
