JMU to send off women’s team to NCAA Tournament

jmu logoThe James Madison University women’s basketball Dukes will be departing for the NCAA Tournament Thursday (March 19) at 4:30 p.m. from the JMU Convocation Center.

Although the NCAA Selection Committee must be “crazy” according to some, the JMU Nation knows the Dukes are underrated with a 12th seed, which has them matched up with fifth-seed Ohio State Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Come out to the  Convo to give the Dukes a NO. 1 Purple & Gold send-off.  Players will greet everyone at 4:15 p.m., and Coach Brooks will address the crowd.

Saturday’s game begins at 1:30 p.m.  David Taylor and Nikki Newman will broadcast the game on the JMU/nTelos Broadcast Network, which includes 92.1 FM & 550 AM WSVA and MadiZONE HD SportsNet audio presented by the JMU Alumni Association.  The pregame show begins at 1:05 p.m.

Video coverage may be included on ESPN2, but certainly online at Watch ESPN at 1:30 p.m.

Everything you wanted to know about a heat dome, but were afraid to ask

A “heat dome” is worse than a “heat wave,” I’m learning, because “heat dome” refers to hot weather that can last a week or more, while a “heat wave” can be over in as few as three days.
