Interstate 81 lane closures in Rockbridge County, Augusta County, beginning on Sunday

i81-headerNighttime Interstate 81 lane closures are scheduled in Rockbridge and Augusta counties beginning on Sunday, May 31, for guardrail work, paving and utility work. All work is weather permitting.

In Rockbridge County
I-81 northbound mile marker 185.9 to 195.3:  Alternating lane closures scheduled for 10 p.m. Sunday, May 31 to 7 a.m. Mondaymorning. Work will continue June 1 to June 5 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.  Additional shoulder-only closures are scheduled for June 1 to June 5, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.  These closures are needed for guardrail work and paving operations.

In Augusta County
I-81 northbound mile marker 216.4:  Left-lane closure for Sunday, May 31 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday morning for utility work.

I-81 northbound mile marker 214 to 215.5:  Single lane closure for milling and paving operations. This work is scheduled for May 31, June 1 and June 2, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day.

I-81 southbound mile marker 224 to 223:  Single lane closure for milling and paving operations. This work is scheduled for May 31, June 1 and June 2, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
