Interstate 81 closures in Shenandoah Valley: Oct. 23-28

interstate 81Interstate 81 in the Shenandoah Valley from Frederick County to Rockbridge County will have various closures due to construction and maintenance activities during the week of Oct-23-28. All work is weather permitting.

 

Rockbridge County

October 24 to 28, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 190 northbound, Maury River Bridge. Single lane closures, bridge deck maintenance.

October 24, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Exit 188A northbound – Off ramp closed, shoulder repairs.

October 26, 8 p.m. to October 27, 7:30 a.m. – Mile marker 174 to 206 northbound and southbound, pothole patching. Mobile lane closures.

 

Augusta County

October 26 and October 27, 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. – Mile Marker 205 to 237 northbound and southbound, pothole patching. Alternating mobile lane closures.

October 23 to October 28, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 207 to 209, northbound. Paving. Alternating lane closures. Estimated completion, early December.

 

Rockingham County

October 24 to October 28, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 240 to 246, northbound and southbound. Deck work on various bridges. Estimated completion is November 11.

 

Shenandoah County

October 23 to 27, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 287 to 283, southbound. Guardrail work. Alternating lane and shoulder closures. Estimated completion, November 18.

October 23 to 27, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 292 to 298, northbound and southbound. Guardrail work. Alternating lane and shoulder closures. Estimated completion, November 18.

October 24 to 28, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 264 to 299, northbound and southbound including ramps. Paving. Mobile single lane closures.

October 24 to 28, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Mile marker 279, northbound and southbound. Bridge over Route 185 and Stoney Creek Bridge. Bridge maintenance. Alternating lane closures. Estimated completion is December 2.

October 24 to 28, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Mile marker 297, northbound and southbound. Bridge work over Norfolk and Southern Railway. Alternating shoulder closures. Estimated completion, November 18.

October 25 to October 27, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Mile marker 264 to 277, northbound. Shoulder repairs. Mobile right shoulder closures.

 

Frederick County

October 24 to 28, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Mile marker 309 to 311, northbound and southbound. Paving. Alternating single lane closures. Continuous right and left shoulder closures. Speed limit is 60 mph in work zone. Estimated completion for I-81 Exit 310 project is spring 2017.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
