William & Mary didn’t come in as a team to be overlooked. The Tribe beat N.C. State 85-68 in Raleigh last month, and was 5-2 with a #77 power rating according to KenPom.com.

Virginia’s 67-52 win was its second of the week over a Top 100 team. Ohio State, which fell to the Cavs, 64-58, on Tuesday, is currently ranked 77th,

 

Quiet 16 for Malcolm Brogdon

Senior Malcolm Brogdon had 10 of Virginia’s first 14 points, then didn’t score again until the 3:12 mark in the second half.

Brodgon finished with a very quiet 16 for the ‘Hoos, on 6-of-12 shooting from the field.

 

Thompson looks good at PG again

Darius Thompson had his second straight 12-point night starting at point for London Perrantes, who underwent an emergency appendectomy on Sunday.

Thompson was 5-of-10 from the field in 36 minutes, with two assists, no turnovers and four steals.

 

Slog

Virginia scored 1.031 points per possession in the win, down sharply from its season average of 1.156 points per possession entering the game.

The defense had a solid night against the Tribe, limiting them to .800 points per possession for the game
