Health Works for Northern Virginia, in conjunction with small business organization Small Business Majority, will host a webinar on Thursday, July 9, 2015, on the healthcare law and its impact on Virginia small businesses and entrepreneurs.
“We believe it’s important for small business owners to learn more about the healthcare law and how it affects them,” said April Cook, a Certified Application Counselor at HealthWorks of Northern Virginia. “These interactive dialogues are a great way for small businesses to get the information they need to take advantage of and comply with key provisions of the healthcare law, and for us to get feedback on their thoughts and concerns.”
The free webinar, which is open to all small business owners, will feature Small Business Majority’s Mid-Atlantic Outreach Manager, Erik Rettig, who will discuss the topics most relevant to small businesses, including small business tax credits, wellness grants and cost containment provisions. Rettig will also explain how the marketplace functions for self-employed business owners.
A question and answer period will follow the discussion.
“Educating small business owners about how to access these new healthcare options, either the small business portal or the individual marketplace, gives them new options for obtaining health insurance for themselves, their families and their employees,” said Rettig. “With the small business health insurance marketplace open year round, entrepreneurs will be able to use what they learn to secure the coverage they need.”
The webinar will take place on Thursday, July 9 from 11am to 12pm (EDT).
