Evening lane closures will occur the week of March 14-18 on Interstate 81 at the Stone Spring Bridge in Rockingham County. Motorists should anticipate possible delays in this area.

The left northbound and southbound lanes of I-81, at mile marker 245 will be closed the evening of March 15, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-81, from mile markers 240.5 to 250.5 will have rolling lane closures the evening of March 15, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be setting bridge steel beams across the interstate for the Stone Spring Bridge during this time.

City of Harrisonburg Police will close the I-81 southbound on-ramp at the mile marker 245 and 247 interchanges and the northbound on-ramp at the mile marker 243 interchange during the rolling lane closures.

Signs will be posted. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes, but are advised to use extreme caution if traveling through the work zone.

All work is weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, closures may also occur the evening of March 16 between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.

This project is part of the City of Harrisonburg’s Stone Spring Road-Erickson Avenue project. More information can be found at www.HarrisonburgVA.gov or www.ericksonstonespring.org.
