justin_thumbnail.jpgJustin Harris lost his battle with childhood cancer last May, after fighting with uncommon courage and grace. Before he got sick, Justin liked nothing better than hanging out with the fast-talking, slow-smoking competition team — Pigs on the Run — from the BBQ Connection, Central Virginia’s own state and national barbecue champs. The BBQ Connection raised money for Justin’s family with a hugely successful barbecue at Justin’s School, Hugh K Cassell Elementary School, last year. Head smoker John Atkins said the community response was absolutely overwhelming, and Justin’s adult friends served more than 700 plates in a couple of hours, treating the community to world-class barbecue as well as a massive display of good-hearted support for the Harris family.
