groovin greenwayHound Dog Hill will play the Groovin’ at the Greenway concert series at Constitution Park in Waynesboro on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Hound Dog Hill is a six-piece neo-traditional string band from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Since 2003, Hound Dog Hill has been making music the traditional way, using all acoustic instruments and drawing their influence from the Shenandoah Valley’s rich musical heritage.

In the years they have been playing together, Hound Dog Hill has evolved into a high-energy Bluegrass and Old Time string band. In the summer of 2007, Hound Dog Hill won several awards including First Place for Best Original Song at the Appalachian String Band Festival at Clifftop, W.Va., as well as Second Place Neo-Traditional Band.

In the summer of 2008 the band was awarded First Place Old Time Band at the 15th Annual Glen Maury Fiddlers’ Convention at Buena Vista, VA.
