‘Hoos, Hokies on national TV

A pair of UVa. games and another pair of Virginia Tech games will be broadcast nationally in September, and Tech will make several appearances on national TV throughout the 2009 football season.
The Hokies’ Sept. 5 opener against Alabama at the Georgia Dome in the 2009 Chick-fil-A National Kickoff Game is set for ABC in prime time at 8 p.m., the Atlantic Coast Conference announced today. Tech’s Sept. 19 home game with Nebraska is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. airing regionally on ABC and nationally on ESPN2.

Virginia’s Sept. 12 home game against TCU will be broadcast on ESPNU at 3:30 p.m. The Cavs’ road tilt at Southern Miss on Sept. 19 is slated for CBS College Sports at 3:30 p.m.

Virginia Tech will make two appearances on the ESPN Thursday-night schedule – Oct. 29 at home against North Carolina and Nov. 5 at East Carolina.
