Opening Night starter Mike Hernandez was dominant in an eight-inning, one-hit, no-run performance, and Waynesboro broke through with an unearned run in the seventh en route to a 2-0 win at New Market Saturday night.

Hernandez, a sophomore righthander from Butler, struck out seven and allowed just two Rebels to get on base. Andrew Blackwell, a sophomore from Western Carolina, allowed the first two batters he faced to get on base before battling back to record the save.
