A Henrico man with a Latino name who identifies as a White supremacist was sentenced to eight years and a month in prison for possession of destructive devices, specifically, eight Molotov cocktails.
Investigators recovered the Molotov cocktails, destructive devices with Styrofoam added to the gasoline mixture inside, creating improvised napalm, in the bedroom of Xavier Louis Lopez, 25, who was living with his aunt after being released from prison on a 2021 felony vandalism conviction.
Located near the Molotov cocktails, according to a press release sent out by the Department of Justice on Thursday to announce the final disposition in the case against Lopez, was a box of 9mm hollow-point ammunition, as well as the defendant’s attempts to 3D-print the final piece of a 9mm handgun build kit he had purchased anonymously online.
The DOJ press release tells us that the 2021 felony conviction stemmed from an August 2020 incident in which Lopez “paced through his suburban Henrico neighborhood, wielding a knife that he used to slash the tires of cars belonging to neighbors of whose political views he disapproved.”
The release was vague as to the “political views” that Lopez had disapproved of.
A 2023 court document from the Lopez case gives us more detail on that: as he was rampaging through his neighborhood, he was carrying a Bonnie Blue flag, a symbol of the Confederacy.
A 2023 court document from the Lopez case then offers the detail that investigators noted the presence of a Nazi flag in Lopez’s bedroom, with a crucifix and rosary fastened above the swastika, during the search that led to the discovery of the cache of weapons.
Digging a little deeper, if you Google “Xavier Louis Lopez Henrico 2021 vandalism,” the search results lead you to the so-called “anti-Catholic memo,” which MAGA figures and their stans in the far-right media ecosystem claimed as evidence that the FBI was targeting Catholics.
The connection: the investigation into Lopez led the FBI to a Catholic church in the Richmond area that Lopez said he was drawn to because it “was a traditional church that isn’t totally kiked.”
I’m honestly surprised that the DOJ even wanted anybody to know about Lopez getting prison time in this case.
Seriously, this one seems like the kind of case that is going to lead to a Trump pardon.
Investigators determined that Lopez “was attempting to actively recruit other individuals with similar belief systems into Organization 1” – “Organization 1” is a reference to Society of St. Pius X, a Catholic order that the Southern Poverty Law Center calls “a font of antisemitic propaganda” – “and had begun talking about an attack.”
The FBI memo on the investigation became political fodder because, that’s what happens in our modern political climate.
What should have riled people up is that a Latino White supremacist who was slashing tires of neighbors because he didn’t like their politics, and, as he was being transported to jail, got control of the knife that he’d used in the vandalism and attacked one of the cops, only got a year in prison.
Instead, we had Members of Congress of the MAGA persuasion getting their panties in a bunch because the guy invoked God as the reason he was stockpiling weapons to attack perceived political enemies.
To that point: the FBI investigation linked Lopez to a social-media account on which he posted about having “absolutely zero regard for the, quote, law and order, unquote, of the kike system that hates you,” and offering detailed instructions on making guns with 3D printers and how to avoid law-enforcement detection.
“Have no tolerance for cops,” Lopez wrote in one message posted online. “If they come to your house, that’s your cue to shoot them. If you see cops at your white neighbor’s house, that’s also your cue to shoot them. If you hear of cops beating up a white man in your area, get together to attack the whole police department.”
“This is why we should always be armed,” Lopez wrote in another message posted online. “Raid a military or police armory if you have to. Go full Lord of War, but for white people only, if necessary. Manufacture pipe bombs using match heads or mix acetone and either 35 percent peroxide or Styrofoam.”
Investigators also uncovered a letter that Lopez had written to his aunt, in which he wrote that “all that needs to be done is for us to truly unite in Christ Jesus and make total war against the Satanic occultist government and the Zionist devil worshipping bankers who control it, and the Lord will give us victory.”
More from that letter:
“Jews, liberals, communists, degenerates, Zionists, progressives, capitalists, globalists and Green Party PETA-type environmentalists are the greatest enemies of God and the primary representatives of the devil himself in the spotlight and everyday life. Learn to spot them and how to destroy them.”
This Lopez guy gets eight years and a month behind bars to get further radicalized before being let back loose on an unsuspecting population.
And the outrage in this case is that the FBI wrote a memo.
‘Murica.
