The Velocity Urgent Care Center at 3841 Stone Spring Road in Harrisonburg is one of 18 centers in Virginia rebranded this week as Sentara Urgent Care.

The branding change has been in the works since Sentara assumed full ownership of Velocity in December 2023. Sentara’s Epic electronic medical record (EMR) was adopted in August 2024.

“This branding process brings us full circle back to Sentara,” said Kurt Hofelich, Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Sentara Health. “We’re glad to have Sentara Urgent Care back in the family.”

Sentara Urgent Care offers a convenient alternative to emergency departments for minor injuries and illnesses.

Patients can make appointments online. Patients may also choose the option to ‘click and reserve your spot,’ which allows you to schedule your check-in with Sentara Urgent Care online.

Following a visit to Sentara Urgent Care, Sentara MyChart users will have immediate online access to provider notes from their visit and test results.

Sentara Urgent Care will provide our patients with a seamless connection to Sentara’s Epic EMR,” said Barbara Smith, Vice President of Operations for Sentara Urgent Care. “Being part of Sentara promotes patient safety and continuity of care. Sentara is one of the most respected names in health care, and we’re happy to be a part of it.”

Sentara Urgent Care provides immediate care for illnesses and injuries as well as physicals, vaccinations, X-rays, referrals and basic lab tests. Minor illnesses and non-life-threatening injuries that need immediate medical attention are treated, including colds, coughs, flu, fevers, asthma, bronchitis, sinus infections, broken bones and sprains, dislocations and minor concussions. Sentara offers STD testing, physical examinations and employer
