Two men have been arrested in connection with a double shooting in Downtown Harrisonburg reported Sunday evening.

Aaron Christopher Gordon Jr., 20, of Harrisonburg, and Za’Jaun Page, 20, of Harrisonburg, were each charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit malicious wounding.

Officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department responded to the 400 block of South Main Street on Sunday at approximately 6:30 p.m. for a complaint of two victims with gunshot wounds.

The Emergency Communication Center received reports of shots fired on West Gratton Street around this time.

When officers arrived, they were able to eventually locate the victims, who had been travelling in a vehicle in search of assistance, in the area of East Johnson Street and Community Street. Both victims were transported to Sentara RMH Medical Center before one victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation has shown that the victims were in the area of West Grattan Street when approached by two males. A struggle ensued between the victim in the passenger seat and one of the males after a firearm was displayed. The gun was fired, and both victims were struck.

Witnesses nearby and security footage in the area led officers to a townhome on West Grattan Street where the suspects were believed to have fled. Officers arrested two suspects at this time in connection with the shooting.
