A Harrisonburg man was killed in a head-on collision on Route 262 in Staunton on Friday.
Staunton Police responded at approximately 4:30 p.m. to an accident on Route 262 between Churchville Avenue and Shutterlee Mill Road. Witnesses report that a Chevy pickup truck traveling southbound on Route 262 crossed the center line hitting head-on a Nissan car traveling in the northbound lane.
The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the accident.
The driver of the car, Galaspa C. Duck III, a 32-year-old male of Harrisonburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been placed at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
