The event continues April 22nd with the grand reveal of a freshly painted and reorganized ReStore space. The revitalization of the SAW Habitat ReStore celebrates Earth Day—an annual holiday that promotes opportunities to save the planet through recycling efforts and education. The Habitat ReStore staff works hard to educate our volunteers and donors on the value of restoring and reusing appliances, construction materials, and household items. The ReStore helps save the environment by accepting donations of used furniture, working and non-working appliances, and building materials, The ReStore helps build the community by offering recycled materials to repair homes and by using its profits to fund its homebuilding and repair program.
In June the ReStore will celebrate five-years of non-profit operations. It is estimated that they have kept over 200 tons of material out of the landfill, rung over 20,000 sales, provided 16,000 hours of work experience and training for social service programs, and contributed to the Habitat home building or repair program with funding and materials.
