Chris Graham

richmond international racewayGwaltney returns to Richmond International Raceway (RIR) bringing more family fun than ever before! The Gwaltney Turn 3 Fun Zone will again be open during race weekend this spring on April 24-25, featuring games and prizes, exclusive Gwaltney concessions, and a 47-foot tall Ferris wheel located right next to the 3/4-mile “Action Track.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to return to Turn 3 at RIR. As Gwaltney is such a family-oriented brand, we will be providing race attendees with games and prizes, picnic tables, kid-friendly concessions for sale, and a full-size Ferris Wheel for families to ride and enjoy together,” said Dennis Pittman, Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Gwaltney. “Fans should also be on the lookout for VIP visitors throughout the weekend, such as racing legend Richard Petty, and driver of the famed No. 43, Aric Almirola. With something for everyone, the Gwaltney Turn 3 Fun Zone only adds to the excitement surrounding the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 at RIR.”

The Ferris wheel will be FREE to all ticketholders, although optional donations from riders will be accepted. All proceeds from these donations will benefit Victory Junction, a camp for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses in North Carolina founded by the Petty family.

Gwaltney is a brand of Smithfield Foods, primary sponsor of the Richard Petty Motorsports No. 43 race team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with driver Aric Almirola.
