Governor Terry McAuliffe released the following statement after parties reached a settlement in the case of Lee v. Virginia State Board of Elections, which will allow the Commonwealth to reduce waiting times at polling places on Election Day.
“This settlement is a tremendous step forward for Virginia voters and for the Commonwealth’s efforts to make democracy as accessible as possible to the people we serve. I look forward to working with the Virginia Department of Elections to implement these reforms so that no voter is forced to wait hours in order to have a say in the future of our Commonwealth and country.”
