Gone again: Virginia QB Corwin Cutler to transfer

Chris Graham

corwin cutlerCorwin Cutler briefly left the Virginia football program last spring to go juco. The redshirt freshman quarterback is gone for good.

Cutler announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he is transferring to Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College.

The 6’4”, 200-pounder had decided after spring practice in 2015 to transfer to Hutchinson, but changed his mind after junior Greyson Lambert left the UVA program for Georgia.

Cutler never made it past the third spot on the depth chart, with junior Matt Johns starting all 12 games, and Arizona transfer Connor Brewer.

The move leaves new coach Bronco Mendenhall with four quarterbacks on the roster heading into the 2016 season: Johns, Brewer, redshirt freshman Nick Johns (no relation) and incoming freshman Sonny Abramson.
