Theatre at Bridgewater College presents Gin Mummy by Melissa Leilani Larson from Wednesday, October 23, through Saturday, October 26, at 120 College View Drive in Bridgewater.

The show will begin at 8 p.m. each night, with an additional showing on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.

Larson’s Gin Mummy is a drawing room comedy, a type of play originating from the Victorian era that was performed in the drawing room of a home, and will be staged in an actual drawing room of a house on the college’s campus. The production tells the story of a young Victorian aristocrat named “Beth” who must navigate her desires and her family’s expectations on the night of her engagement party. A mummy is also involved.

Gin Mummy is directed by Aili Huber, founder and artistic director of the professional theatre company Silk Moth Stage in Dayton.

The production is open to the public. Tickets are $10 per adult, $8 per seniors ages 65 and older and non-BC students and free for BC students, faculty and staff. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. Email [email protected] to make a reservation. Reserved tickets may be paid for 30 minutes prior to showtime with cash or check only.

Founded in 1880, Bridgewater College is a private, four-year liberal arts college in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
