Gavin Newsom wants to be bipartisan: Good luck with that, Governor

Why is Gavin Newsom siding with the people who want to gut Title IX over the made-up issue over “men” in women’s sports?

Maybe a better question: does Newsom just want to go ahead and officially join the MAGA movement and get it over with?

“Well, I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness, it’s deeply unfair. I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you,” Newsom, the California Democrat, and until this particular moment in time, a guy that quite a few on the left wanted on the short list for 2028, said on the debut episode of his “This is Gavin Newsom” podcast, which dropped on March 6.

Newsom, here, was “totally” agreeing with Charlie Kirk, the MAGA media personality who, among other things, is a climate change and Jan. 6 denier, called the Civil Rights Act of 1964 a “huge mistake, and thinks birth control makes women “angry and bitter,” after Kirk posed the loaded question: “Would you say no men in female sports?”

That Newsom even had this Charlie Kirk incel on his podcast is an indictment on him as a supposed Democrat.

Seriously, which of his political consultants whispered in Newsom’s ear, hey, get the biggest MAGA chode you can find for the first podcast, and make sure to throw trans people under the bus, so you can look more bipartisan?

“I revere sports, so the issue of fairness is completely legit,” Newsom said. “And I saw that, the last couple years, boy did I, how you guys were able to weaponize that issue at another level.”

So, feed the trans community to the MAGAs, to get them to shut up.

Hey, Governor, idea here: no doubt you’ve noticed how the MAGAs have been able to weaponize the issue of the very existence of Black folks to another level.

DEI is just the new n-word, replacing CRT.

Your buddy Charlie Kirk, for years, peddled a story that he now admits he made up about losing a spot at West Point to a “far less-qualified” candidate.

You get it, right, that to the Charlie Kirks, “fairness” is shorthand for “fairness for heterosexual White males”?

Go ahead and totally agree with him on that, and afterward, do us all a favor, and stay the hell away from Democratic politics.
