Chris Graham

vmiVMI baseball will return to action Friday, when the Keydets open a crucial SoCon series against ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., with games Saturday and Sunday to follow at 2 p.m. and 1 p.m.

How to Follow

Fans can follow along with the action via live stats, and in addition, all three contests are scheduled to broadcast on the SoCon Digital Network.

Probable Starting Pitchers

VMI RHP Matthew Eagle vs. ETSU RHP Lee Haeberle
VMI RHP Josh Winder vs. ETSU TBA
VMI TBA vs. ETSU TBA

Notes

This is a series extremely relevant to SoCon Tournament seeding – These two teams currently rank eighth and ninth in the league standings.

Shortstop Jacob Jaye extended his hitting streak to a career-high 10 straight games with a seventh-inning single against VCU Tuesday – He has also reached base in a career-high 17 consecutive contests.

OF/DH Matt Dunlevy is hitting 7 for 14 (.500) with four RBI over VMI’s last five games.

Depending on postseason results, as many as eight Keydets could break the school record for games played. Five are on pace to start every game this year, with 11 games remaining in the regular season.

Next Time Out

Following this series, the Keydets break for exams for 10 days before playing host to Radford on May 11.
