Fishburne Military School has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year by Virginia Living Magazine as one of the state’s top Independent Schools. Virginia Living magazine’s annual Best of Virginia 2016 issue hit newsstands early this month and once again recognized the 136-year-old military school for boys as one of the premier programs in the state.
In all, only fifteen Independent Schools in the state of Virginia were singled out for recognition as Best of Virginia. Of those fifteen schools, Fishburne Military School was the only military program to have earned the honor.
“This is a tremendous honor,” explains FMS Superintendent, Mrs. Susan Johnson, “particularly because it is not awarded by the magazine itself; this list is the result of polling and represents the viewpoint of the readership. As we prepare to open the doors for Summer Session on the 25th of June, it’s important for us to know that Fishburne Military School’s reputation throughout the state of Virginia is as strong as it has ever been. We’re expecting an excellent group of young men this summer and we’re looking forward to another year of upholding our school’s honor and reputation.”

“Within the past four months,” Johnson continued, “Fishburne Military School has earned a perfect score on our 10-year accreditation, earned continued designation as an Army JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and now we’ve been named to Best of Virginia for the fourth consecutive year … this is an exciting time for the entire Fishburne Family. We certainly hope these accolades earned by the faculty, staff and Corps of Cadets will help us to continue attracting quality cadets well into the future.”
