Fishburne Military School baseball uses big sixth inning to beat Virginia Episcopal School, 10-3

FMS newA six-run explosion in the sixth inning led Fishburne Military School baseball team to a 10-3 win over Virginia Episcopal School at VES on Tuesday.

Fishburne scored in the sixth on a two-run double by Tyree Scott, an RBI single by Calen Owens, an RBI single by Jacob Harrison, and a passed ball.

Quasean Napier singled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base.

Scott racked up two RBIs on two hits for FMS.

Napier boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace Fishburne. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second, sixth, and seventh innings.

Grant Miezis got the win for Fishburne He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Bryant Meeks was charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out three.

Virginia Episcopal School jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Meeks kicked things off for Virginia Episcopal School with a single. A single by Ben Tucker then moved Meeks from first to second. More runs came home for Virginia Episcopal School when Tucker scored on an error and Elam scored on a wild pitch.
