The University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy will host the first moderated debate for candidates running in the Fifth District Congressional race on Wednesday.
The event is slated to begin at 6 p.m. at Garrett Hall, UVA Grounds (235 McCormick Road, Charlottesville.
Current Representative Robert Hurt (R-Fifth) will retire from Congress at the end of his term this year.
The discussion will be moderated by Batten School Dean Allan Stam and Professor Gerald Warburg. Candidates will be asked questions on public policy matters relevant to Fifth District, as well as domestic and foreign policy.
All declared candidates for the Fifth District seat were invited to participate.
