Luna Labs USA announced on Friday that it plans invest $200,000 to expand its operations in the City of Charlottesville.

The company will create 20 new jobs with the expansion.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer here, but a search of USASpending.gov has Luna Labs, a contractor that works in the defense, industrial and healthcare markets, shows the company benefitting from federal contracts well into the eight-digit range.

Gotta wonder how that’s going to work with the Trump/Musk folks cutting the government into the bone.

Not rooting against them at all. Just pointing out the obvious.

The press release from the governor’s office announcing the expansion pretends that we’re still in the Biden/Harris years.

“Luna Labs’ expansion demonstrates Virginia’s ability to cultivate and retain innovative technology companies,” MAGA Gov. Glenn Youngkin said in a statement in the release. “When high-tech firms choose to grow in the Commonwealth, it reinforces our position as a hub for research and development, particularly in sectors like aerospace, energy and defense. LunaLabs’ success story showcases how Virginia’s world-class talent pipeline and collaborative ecosystem help companies thrive.”
