The Royals recovered well from their overtime loss to Virginia Wesleyan, dominating Randolph College Tuesday evening, 64-35.  The women controlled the boards and made a living at the free throw line as they led by as many as 31 points to improve to 19-3 overall and 15-3 in the ODAC.

Kala Yoders (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) scored 13 points in the first 20 minutes and the women opened up a 27-15 lead at halftime on the road.  Bianca Ygarza (Conestoga, PA/Penn Manor) provided the punch to start the second half as EMU inflated the lead to 54-24 and never looked back.

All 11 of the Eastern Mennonite players got on the floor and 10 scored.

Although the Royals only shot 33%, they ripped down 23 offensive rebounds and had a 50-40 edge in rebounding.  EMU attempted 35 free throws, making 22 for 63%.  They also forced the WildCats into 27 turnovers.

Yoders finished with a game high 16 points along with seven rebounds and three assists.  Ygarza came in with 12 counters, eight rebounds and three steals.

Alisa Brown (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) chipped in nine points while Marla zumFelde (Goshen, IN/Bethany Christian) added six counters and five boards.  Shakeerah Sykes (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) and Nora Osei (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) each pulled down seven rebounds.

The Royals smothered Randolph into 26% shooting.  Bonnie Bishop led RC with eight points.

With two games left in the regular season, EMU is tied for second with Guilford in the ODAC standings.  Virginia Wesleyan is one game ahead of the two teams.  Eastern Mennonite plays at Emory & Henry Friday night before closing the season at Guilford Saturday afternoon.
