EMU releases men’s, women’s hoops schedules

Already picked No. 6 nationally in one preseason poll, the Eastern Mennonite University men’s basketball team announced its 2010-11 schedule this week. The Runnin Royals have a 24-game slate featuring 11 home games at Yoder Arena. Returning this year is the EMU Tip-Off Classic, which opens the men’s home schedule Nov. 19-20.

Last season, Eastern Mennonite went to the national tournament for the first time in program history and finished in the Elite Eight with their best record ever at 25-5, including 14-2 in conference play. Returning all five starters from that postseason run has boosted expectations of the Runnin Royals, as the men were picked No. 6 in D-III by The Sporting News in that publication’s season preview issue.
