Nineteen East Rockingham Senior Center members, two volunteers, and one former ERSC member were guests of the staff of Avante at Harrisonburg for a special social activity: Casino Day.
The day’s activities were coordinated through Ressa Baugher, Director of Community Relations at Avante’. A multitude of games awaited us including, roulette, poker, slot machines, and dice. Tokens were offered for winnings, and at the end of the day, numerous door prizes were given.
Prior to a delicious lunch of crab-cake or chicken sandwiches, fries and fruit, attendees were entertained with special karaoke music from the husband of the Director for Avante.
A donation of $100 was also given to ERSC for VPAS to assist with transportation expenses for the excursion. A great time was had by all!
